Before and After

Gerard had a great request that I show the before and after of this image.

The "Before" (original shot) is on the top. And the "After" (Snapseed version) is on the bottom. I am very Sorry about the smaller size of these comparison images. I used Collage Creator to do this and it is a VERY basic and limited tool (and I am not very skilled with it yet). But, the price is right - it is a free (no charge) App .

Anyway, as you can see, the edited/processed version just has a litlle less highlight in the glary sky and some toning correction, and less shadows in the darker areas so we can see better, and a bit more detail. Anyway, that's it. The environmental color that day was really just like this - kind of a hazy but mellow sky.

It's obviously an interesting tool, the improvements seem not to give a caricatural result.

I agree, the processed image reveals more light in the foreground and balances the brightness in the sky.

The processed image looks much better. I find that even small adjustments can do a lot for an image. Nice work, Denny.

Fantastic edit on this photo, thanks for sharing the before photo as well.
As for the snow ~ I like the snow as long as it doesn't fall on the streets :) haha; this snow mostly melted here today. Have a nice day Denny!

@RBL: Thansk so much, Ruthoe...Our snow is basically gone too...but it was gorgeous this morning - I stoped and took some shots of the moon going down over the trees and creek -I am hoping they came out,,,the trees all had sugar coatiing frost on them.. OMG it was awesome!!
