6/6 Sunset #2 - Stay Tuned for More Bodie Pics

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 11 July 2010 in Landscape & Rural.

This was also taken on July 6 , but the view is more "head-on".....
During my military service in Vietnam, my daily method of "escape" was to try and catch sunsets on my little film camera. Still today, Sunsets hold that feeling of release and enjoyment for me. To me, missing at least a glimpse out the window of the sunset makes the day somehow incomplete.
STARTING TOMORROW, I will begin another mini-series of BODIE STATE HISTORIC PARK. That series will be followed by a series focusing on the spiritually captivating, peaceful and beautiful ANCIENT BRISTLECONE PINE FOREST - I hope you enjoy all of these as much as I do presenting them.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
