** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"

George from Northern California, United States

Very nice. However I think this is the church, which you can go inside. You can't go inside the schoolhouse. You can only get a picture of the interior of the schoolhouse through a window.

14 Jul 2010 1:10pm

@George: Hi George Thank you very much - In my shot being posted tomorrow, it will show that I did indeed take the shot through the window as you note - that is correct - no entrance to the inside of the school is allowed This may indeed be the church - I know it sort of looks like a church and not the school but my notes indicated it was the schoolhouse.. Anyway thanks very much for your comment. I do appreciate them

The lovely blue sky and clouds provide a nice backdrop to this grand shot of the school, it still looks in wonderful condition

14 Jul 2010 4:52pm

@JJ: Unfortunately it is a black sky for me as you will note bt reading my corrections that (an thanks to George) this is NOT the school it is, instead the Methodist Church....this, of course leads to ALL the other questions about what the heck was I doing/thinking etc on the other postings - if you check out tomorrows post I have posted a correction statement...man I really messed up ' check you facts/check your facts / check your facts aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

The structural integrity of this church is unbelievable! The white mullions of the windows really stand out nicely. And what a day for photographing with this great blue sky.

@Steven: Hi Steven -Thanks very much - Yes tis Church looks great - they do a great job in keeping the structures looking as good as possible without augmenting or altering anything. Thanks for checking in...we're amost done with the Bodie series and then it's on to less structure but more spiritual - we'll see how that goes. All the best Steveb - Denny
