Interior of Residence

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 17 July 2010 in Landscape & Rural.

This is the inside of the house we showed yesterday - again, no one is allowed inside any buildings except for a few- but I placed my camera against the glass of a window to get this shot. To the best of my recollection, the California State Park System has a goal of keeping all buildings, structures, artifacts, and interiors in a state of "arrested decay" which means that they (the Parks) employ special measures to keep the items (inside and out) just as they were when the State took over in 1962. SO this means that they try their best to NOT let anything decay anymore but they also do not try to "make it newer"...I hope this makes sense. "
This is the end of the Bodie Tour - I hope you enjoyed it - the Epilogue photo will post tomorow - a beautiful view of the Eastern Sierras from the Bodie Location.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
