Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 31 July 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This image was captured at a lovely Nature Preserve named Merrill Creek Reservoir in nearby Warren County, NJ. My friend and fellow Aminus3 Phtotgrapher, Julie Finley of Easton, PA introduced me to this preserve. Incidentally, If you are not familiar with Julie's work I would urge you to take a look. She has some really phenomenal images in her blog located at

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.

Nigel from Avening, United Kingdom

Nicely composed - the white and green work very well together.

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

Absolutely stunning. Superb processing.

31 Jul 2010 4:24pm

@john4jack: Thanks Jack - I wanted o keep it kina dark because blue I saw looked just like it does here - any more exposure and/or shadows tended to hide the blue...this was an amazing flower, I have nt seen any others with blue although I am sure that there ar some out there. All the best and thanks again. Denny

JJ from Jersey City, United States

Such a beautiful close up shot of them, will go check out Julies link

getting the hot of the Plaques on the pavement was hard especially in the afternoon as the streets were getting busy, thats why I only got shots of three of them, will go back and try and get the rest sometime, but would have taken ages waiting for a break in the pedestrians to get them all one by one

31 Jul 2010 5:42pm

@JJ: You are sure right about that JJ - I was thinking abut that as i loked at your previous one - good going my friend! And thank you very much for your comment Cheers.
