So this is number 2 of 3 . Thank you.
** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"
- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)
- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"; Earth Wind and Fire
@Julie Brown: Hi Julie No problem I definitely appreciate this...what I had in mind was an image like the one Gary Hart on Glacier POint (I think) with the flower in focus in the foreground and the falls and sky colors in the distance fuzzed...but the f stop was probably different - I can't remember - becasue yes, I had it on f18 just to get a nice long exposure and I also did not have nearly the dramatic background to be able to blur...so yes I totally see what you are saying here. OMG wait until Thursday,s shopt - you will have tomorrow to recover :-) Thank You Julie I really appreciate this - I will remember this comment (I hope) the next time I try to do something like this.
@Scott F. Schilling: Hi Scott - Thank you very much. I liked the colors as well. I think I need to slow down just a bit and think more about what I am doing and what is it that I really want. I tend to panic when the lighting is moving along and I don't want to lose that light.Thank you sir.
@Bill Brown: I am chuckling and graoning as I read this Bill because one of my first thughts later that evening as I worked on these was "Hey, stupid, you should have used that ND Grad filter that you just received in the mail last week!" So, yes I totally agree with you and Julie - So thank you Thanks VERY much, Bill, this kind of critique really helps. Thanks Bill
@k@: Hi Karinne and Thank you - I was happy with that too. The sky was great at the time also. Thanks very much - Denny
@Scene by Sharon Photography: Hi Sharon and thank you I liked the angle too, I need to work on some other factors but that's all part of the learning. Thanks again :-0
@Phil David Alexander Morris: Thank you Phil David! I have some great suggestions to work with here too - this is what I like...as an older guy trying to learn, I don't have much time before I have to go see "The Principal"...
@Julie Brown: Thanks Julie and Yes, I really like the idea of the vertical wide angle. Now, with regard to the ND Grad...see my respnse to Bill...you will crack up or groan as I did...Thanks Julie I serioulsy appreciate this kind of critique...you guys are the tops!
@Julie Brown: Not yet but I plan to for sure and Thank you Julie from all sincerity :-)
@MARIANA: Thank you Mariana - you are way too kind but I'll take it - Your work is fabulous!!!
@Bettina: Thanks Bettina - I guess my heart was in the right place - I could have complsed it better but as Chevy Chase said in the opening scenes of "Christmas Vacation: "it's all part of the experience..."
@Sunder: HI Sunder - Thank you very much - Denny
@JJ: Well we can't have roaming eyes now can we? But seriously I understand what you are saying - I just wish I had thought this through more calmly at first, but oh well. With the great and useful critiques I have received on this one, I will learn for sure. Criticism is not a bad thing at all unless it is rendered in mean-spirited way - which it is not on Aminus3...Thanks JJ :-)
