The Circle of Life

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 12 August 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This ring of forest plants seemed to be providing comfort, peace, and reverence to the ancient one while encoouraging new growth of a baby plant cradled in the center. I was also enjoying the way sunlight was filtering throughout the entire forest, shining down upon some of the plants but not others. This created a delightful scene, really - as if on a stage at a musical performance where spotlights focus on the key players while the various assorted backup musicians remain in the shadows. Such is the life of a backup.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
