Looking Up through the Aspens

Posted by

- NOTICE -
HI EVERYONE.... BEGINNING TOMORROW, I WILL BEGIN A SERIES OF IMAGES PAYING TRIBUTE TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE: MY FAMILY. THE SERIES WILL BEGIN WITH 3 OR 4 PHOTOS OF OUR GRANDDAUGHTER AURORA JEAN, BORN JUST 4 WEEKS AGO.
I WILL INTERSPERSE ALL POSTS WITH IMAGES OF CONVICT LAKE SO THAT EACH DAY WILL TOGGLE BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN FAMILY AND SCENIC. I HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY ALL OF THEM AND I THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR BEING SO PATIENT

OK, Now about this view: Here we were in October of 2006, in the Aspen Grove near Convict Creek - looking up, we see the top of Mt Morrison. The trees were just a bit past peak but only by a day or so. The mountain peak (Mt Morrison) is towards the Ansel Adams - John Muir Wilderness if I am not mistaken.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
