New Jersey Sunrise

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 10 November 2010 in Landscape & Rural.

As a West-Coaster currently living in the east and learning some things about this side of the continent, I will be the first to tell you that New Jersey is one state that sometimes gets a bad wrap.... at least 90% of the state is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! The very same thing goes for Pennsylvania which is also beautiful! Sunrises like this are what I get to see on my way to work most every morning to one extent or another...There is an open preserve park not far from my office that has a little hill which affords decent views...if I see an awesome sunrise happening, and I am early enough, I usually have time to drive over there and put together a quick composition. Perhaps not always the best way to carefully construct a photograph, but hey, when I see a gorgeous sunrise, I gotta get it, ...if it's not good enough to share, I just learn and enjoy the experience.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
