The Farce is With You -Self Portrait

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 30 November 2010 in People & Portrait.

Goofing around with my camera last summer, relaxing at David and Lyndsy's house in San Francisco. I caught my own reflection - along with some light beams which were reflecting off the glass door of David's sound system. One beam appears to be coming from my left eye - I could only hope for such powers - I think the light in both cases had actually bounced in through David and Lyndsy's bay windows that face west.

Finally, as to this marvelous looking old duffer you see here, I know that I rather look like a mean and cranky old man in this view...however, most people who know me will tell you that I am neither mean, nor cranky - at least not as a general rule....however, most all who know me will readily agree that I am, indeed, quite old.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
