We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

@GJC: Thank you GJC - I loved your write up and image today..thank you for that!
Denny, I love the light and softness of this wonderful capture. Welcome back to the east coast, hope you had time for a little photography while in SF. We returned from Southern Cal last Thursday afternoon, unfortunately, I brought back a cold, thanks to my grandson who was sick our entire visit. It put a damper on his Christmas and birthday which was two days after Xmas. Anyway, I spent most of New Year's weekend in bed and I'm just now starting to feel better. Hopefully, I'll feel good enough to get my camera out this weekend because the weather is really nice right now.
5 Jan 2011 11:42pm
@Bill Brown: Hi Bill - Yes I am back but wish I were still on the correct coast...nevertheless, we al must do what we must do and there is a ton of beauty back here..so I will keep on keepin on. I am really sorry to hear baout your illness, what a total drag...just take it easy, the shots will be there...we are supposed to get some snow this weekend so I may return to this scene (above) or another to try and shoot..My beautiful Barbara returns Tuesday next..then life will be good again...get better soon! ;-)
Denny, this is one of my favorites of yours...wish I would have taken such photo
Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that you are back safe.
Happy New Year!
Maria

@Maria Draper: Hey Maria ;-)..yes I am back in Pennsylvania...we are suppoed to get some snow on Friday and Saturday so perhaps I can figure someplace to take some early morning or late afternoon images...we had a great time in San Francisco, my wife, Barbara, is still there - she returns Tuesday....Thank you VERY much for your kind remark..this one surprised me, I did not think much about it but I liked it ok..but it seems that most everyone really likes this one..so I am pleased and flattered!!. Have a wonderful rest of the week - Cheers-DJ
Beautiful ballet! I love this idea. The mist is just like the mist on a stage. This could be Swan Lake. A really gorgeous shot!
6 Jan 2011 4:41am

@Monterey John: Thanks John...although I think you will be needing to change your name to "Point Lobos Larry" or Carmel Camera Guy, Par Excelent" Thanks John :-) and congratulations!!!

6 Jan 2011 7:17am

@Bill Laing: Hi Bill - Thank you so much... I absolutely love your text and image today...superb!!
Returning to view this most magical place is quite wonderful. Reminds me of being in
the fields of the farm, going into some of the bushes and finding a slough like a lake
in the middle of it.
6 Jan 2011 1:03pm
@Phil David Morris: Hi Phil...I love your story...that is really kind of what happened to me here..I was stumbling along becasue I am always looking around and quite literally stumbled upon this scene...Stay Well sir :-) ps - I LOVE your image of today!
Stumbling into something like this assures us that there is some great magic left. This is just beautiful Denny. Happy New Year to you and yours.
6 Jan 2011 6:12pm
@Susan: Thank you Susan...i was out your way again, sorry I did not let you know..I saw your blog this morning at home but wil need torelook again tonight..same out problem here at work....thank you and I really appreciate your comments :-)
Beautiful textures and mood. However, I find the branches in the left foreground distracting because they are cut off by the frame.
6 Jan 2011 6:54pm
@Andrea: Hi Andrea - Thank you ..just to explain a little, these are actually stumps coming up out of the water..the reflections ended at a point where I would have had to include a ton of other junk that I did not want to include..I wanted this image to be as clean as possible ...not sure iof that satisdfies your concern but it is the reason why I cropped at this point :-) Thanks very much :-)
Wow! This one is a true gem!!! The mist lifting off the water is positively dreamy! I love the way it blankets the trees in the background and softens them.....You have outdone yourself with this one! (wish I had taken it!!!)
6 Jan 2011 11:50pm
@Tracy: Hi Tracy - Thank you so very much. I probably would have never known about this place had it not been for my Easton, PA buddy and fellow AM3 photographer Julie Finley (Julie of Easton, PA) she has been going out to this huge reservoir for years and told me about it early last summer..this place is just full of little miracles..Thank you so much for your encouraging remarks...I really am floating..
A ballet indeed! This is such a great shot Denny! Gorgeous - Gorgeous! I love the bits sticking up from the water - it gives it such a feeling of desolation as well as beauty!
7 Jan 2011 2:18am
@Becky: Hi Becky...I am so very intrigued by the stumps, trunks, sticks, bits and trees that stick up out of the water here...there is always something to capture...this scene just grabbed me and I had to get it....Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!! All the Best - DJ
Love the mist, those ghostly trees and their reflections. Nice!
