Same Creek - Different Season - Dry Springtime

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 3 February 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Here is a look at the same Dunnfield Creek that we have been visiting with my current winter Appalachian Trail shots. This image, here, was captured last May, 2010. Now, normally in spring, this stream would be roaring down through here. But last year was very dry in May.This scene here is more like a late summer shot. But not last year!. For this coming spring, I am hopeful that the snow and moisture we have had so far will result in full streams, full waterfalls ( and full blossoms) to enjoy!. Nevertheless, right now, winter is still upon us and sorry but you won't find me complaining.
I'm loving it!! Spring will be here soon enough and before we know it, people will be griping and complaining about how hot they are...so I am enjoying the seasons as best I can...as they come...no rush!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
