Eyescapades 1

Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 8 February 2011 in Abstract & Conceptual.

Last week we had a somewhat significant (but short-lived) 'ice event" here in Pennsylvania. I was really taken by the amount of ice that formed on and clung to the bushes and trees around our condominium. So even though it was nighttime and Olympus dslr's (don't get me wrong, I still love my Oly) such as my E-510 are notoriosly uncompetitive in low-light situation, I decided to give things a try with the aid of local neighborhood lighting. Let me know what you think of the next 2 or 3 images of conceptual shots I have taken. Here is number 1.

OLYMPUS E-510

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
