Mythical Jazz

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 25 February 2011 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

This Pan flute youngster "Plays Real Good for Free" (credits to Joni Mitchell)! In fact, he "plays" every day and night, 365 days a year, just outside the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco's beautiful Golden Gate Park. I captured this image a few years ago, quite honestly, but I have always been inrigued by that setting he was in. My son and his wife and baby Aurora live within walking distance of this museum...hopefully they will run over there and give this poor flautist a jacket to ward off the cold temps due to hit SFO Friday and Saturday!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
