A Different Perspective - II

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 5 March 2011 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

This image was captured in the same location as yesterday's... I just rotated to the left and pulled in my zoom...alot! On the left of this frame is Mission Dolores, one of the original California Missions. This park is Dolores Park - a favorite of locals because tourists dont know about this location.... at least not many of them do. As you can see, the day wasn't the best for skyline shots because of the glary clouds but this was my only chance. Also, I am sure it is again obvious that this is not the "classic" view that most tourist photos show. But one can enjoy a full view of the city from here and it is a very pleasant and quiet (usually) location. Most of the skyline is visible in this image...you are looking to the east-northeast in this shot!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
