Harmony Borax Works

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 15 March 2011 in Landscape & Rural.

Here is my beautiful wife Barbara, as she and I (along with the 101 Dalmations) examined the Borax works...parts of Badwater can also be seen from here, but the primary reason I chose to post this particular photo is that it seems to be the only half-way decent image that displays the two remnants of the Borax facility: The wagons that pulled the salts and water, and the boiler that helped to process the Borax. I still enjoy using borax hand soap because it leaves the hands very smooth and it smells great! But it is very difficult to find, normally only found in janitorial supply stores nowadays!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
