Washington Monument - Cherry Blossom Festival

HI AGAIN EVERYONE - WE WILL BE DRIVING HOME FROM VERMONT TODAY BUT I JUST WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU AGAIN FOR THE WONDERFUL AND KIND COMMENTS THAT YOU HAVE MADE ON MY BLOG. I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS KINDNESS AND IT MAKES ME FEEL BADLY THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESPOND TO YOU, BUT I ASSURE YOU, I WILL RESPOND TO EACH OF YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS . THANKS AGAIN TO ALL. AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY!

Here is the first of two views we will see of the Washington Monument. I like this one but my favorite will be seen in a few days....We were blessed with magnificent skies and light during our visit in 2008, when these images were captured. This year (2011) I heard that there was actually snow on Friday and Saturday...Over the many years past, snow is not altogether rare...every once in a while, some snow does "visit" the festival. Tomorrow, another view of the Jefferson Memorial. Tuesday we will be back to the Washington Monument.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
