"Camel's Hump" Mountain - Vermont

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 2 April 2011 in Landscape & Rural.

This is a view from our daughter, Amy's back yard in Essex Junction, Vermont. Here we see Camels Hump mountain which lies about 25 miles to the East-Southeast in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Most of us are trying very hard to say goodbye to winter, which, for Vermont, generally comes about a month earlier and leaves about one month later than it does in Pennsylvania where Barbara and I leave. Additionally, Amy is a native-born Californian (Sacramento), so she is usually quite tired of the snow and cold by mid-March at the latest. This year winter has dragged on for all of us back here in the east ....Now that it is April, we are ALL ready to say goodbye to winter. Let's hope it happens. I hope you enjoy this view from Amy's back yard PS- The day was a bit glary with clouds and sun making the far away views a bit hazy and flat - but I still like the view so here it is ;-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
