Play Ball

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 3 April 2011 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Let's play ball...despite the weather, baseball season has started...This is a shot of my my oldest Grandson, Justin, now 15, as he got one of his patented base hits last summer in Essex Junction, Vermont, Little League...This year, 2011, he is currently trying out for the High School Freshman team...we should know soon. He is a hard playing young man and a fantastic catcher and outfielder.

PS - I should probably explain also that I am not a big fan of vignetting in sports shots, at least, but interference from the chain link backstop really bugged me so I decided that the lesser of two evils wold be a slight vignette....Cheers and Happy Sunday

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
