A.J.'s First Easter

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 25 April 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

I cannot take credit for this image - it was captured by our son David using his Olympus E-600.
David's natural instinct and talent for photography totally kicks my butt across the country and back again! :-)

The Image I had originally planned for today has been preempted until tomorrow due to by this late Sunday evening arrival' courtesy of our son, David and daughter-in-law, Lyndsy. Here is our Granddaughter, Aurora Jean Jump, enjoying her very first Easter along with the family cat "Yoda,"

Aurora (or "A.J." as Grandma Barbara calls her) is having a great time with her first Easter, complete with wooden rabbit (in her hands) stuffed toy, and bunny ears on her head along with her headband with the pink fluff and the Easter Dress!... By the way, she is now 8 months old...time flies with these little ones. I hope you enjoy.

Tomorrow, I will start a short series of images from the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest - these will be images I have not previoulsy shown.
Have a great week

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Phil Morris from Canada

Beautiful Aurora has brought in a new "dawn" for your wonderful family tree.
A most endearing photo capturing the essence and magic of the moment.
Even the silly hat looks more like a princesses crown when she wears it so
well, surrounded by her toys and adorable cat.

25 Apr 2011 8:16pm

@Phil Morris: Hi Phil - Thank you so much - we love her so ;-)

GJC from Kyoto (京都), Japan

OK, this is painfully cute! And the cat is a great addition, too. A lovely family. Your grandbaby is just one month older than my daughter, so we both have so much to look forward to. Please post more photos as you are able.

25 Apr 2011 9:25pm

@GJC: Thank you so very much sir. Lets make a date in San Francisco at David and Lyndsy's place to get these two together one day....your daughter is so sweet and calm she?? So cute she is!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

A.J. is cute and Yoda seems a wise old cat who has seen all this kind of fuss before.

25 Apr 2011 11:06pm

@Steve Rice: A fair read ;-) Yoda is not old in years but way old in "wisery" a sly and stealth one she her naamesake. And thank you VERY much for the note on AJ...I must proudly admit that she is , as GK=JC says, "painfully" cute ;-) Thanks Steve! I am loving the Joshua Tree images...take me home!!

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

26 Apr 2011 12:15am

@john4jack: Thanks Jack - Love your Bandon images already!!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

An adorable capture of your granddaughter with such beautiful eyes. I must say the ears add that special touch. Even Yoda is looking quite content as if Yoda received her own basket filled with lots of catnip. :-)

26 Apr 2011 12:35am

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

She probably did - Yoda is quite a character...and AJ is really a happy little clam despite the rather serious look here...Thanks very much, Steven!
