Graver Arboretum - Bangor, PA Scene 2

Posted by Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 14 May 2011 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

This beautiful arboretum is long and narrow. Two main paths wind through the arboretum. Everyhing is left slightly on the "wild side," rather than manicured. This truly gives the feeling of walking in a far away forest and meadow. The Rhodedndrums, seen throughout the series, had not yet begun to bloom at the time we took these images, so Barbara and I have already made plans to return around May 21 if we can. This series was shot on Sunday May 1.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
