Mt Zion Cemetery near Martin's Creek, PA

This is Mount Zion Cemetery near Martin's Creek, PA. The cemetery sits on the slope of a fairly significant hill and it is about 10 miles from our house. The graveyard, established in the early 1800's contains civilians, as well as many war dead from all wars ranging from the Revolutionary War up to the current Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The Delaware River can be seen in the distance flowing roughly North to South (left to right in this view)....Easton Pennsylvania is about 15 miles down river to the south. This is the cemetery where Barbara and I shot my self portrait a few weeks ago. For this particular image, I felt that Black and White would be interesting, considering the age of the cemetery.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
