HI EVERYONE - I JUST WANTED TO SAY TO ALL OF YOU HOW MUCH I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR WONDERFUL, WONDERUL COMMENTS, COMPLIMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS WHILE I HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOUCH. I CAME THROUGH MY PROCEDURE JUST FINE, BUT SPENT MOST OF FRIDAY RECUPERATING, AND THEN, THE REST OF THIS COMBINED CANADIAN/AMERICAN HOLIDAY WEEKEND HAS SEEN ME TEARING AROUND LIKE A CRAZY PERSON, SO, I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESPOND TO MANY OF YOUR COMMENTS. BUT I HAVE READ THEM ALL AND I AM REALLY OVERWHELMED BY YOUR KINDNESS. I'LL TRY TO GET BACK TO FULL SWING IN THE COMING DAYS BUT PLEASE, JUST KNOW THAT I AM READING YOUR WONDERFUL REMARKS AND I REALLY APPRECIATE THEM SO VERY MUCH!. MY LOVE AND BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL.

The television series which aired on PBS, entitled "The National Parks - Americas Best Idea" was so very appropriately titled, in my opinion. Through the generations, families and individuals alike have come to the National Parks to marvel in the spectacle of mother nature and her raw beauty and wildife. Memories are instilled in the minds of children and adults, alike. And these memories feed attitudes about what should be done and what should not be done with our parks.

Recently, efforts have been made to diminish the ability of the National Parks to survive and enrich the lives of all our citizens. These efforts, pushed by interests concerned with monetary gain, must be defeated. The true reality of beauty in nature, and the benefits derived by all who encounter these elements can not and must not be impacted by outside, uncaring, or commercial forces.

If the good spirit of "Americana" is to remain alive, then the essential elements of 'America the land' must also remain alive! The natural beauty that we are fortunate to experience....and the spirituality that we receive from this experience, is far more vital and valuable than establishing a tract for oil exploration or mining or a condominium complex.

My "Americana" is tied to natural beauty. It is a condition that not just supports but promotes the preservation of beauty in nature. My Americana would be a mindset that always did everything in its power to increase the number of those special places for all of us and for all of our descendants to enjoy.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
