Open Minds-Open Hearts

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 5 July 2011 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Young ones don't seem to mind differences nearly as much as we older ones do...There are very few barriers, if any, until the attitudes, beliefs, superstitions, fears,and prejudice of the older ones begin to creep into the environment of the child. If positivity and openness is encouraged by the older ones, that will influence the young, as well. If hostility, negativity, and intolerance reign... guess what - that's what will creep into the hearts and minds of the young.

Remember that computer-related term "Garbage in-Garbage out"? That phenomenon seems to be "for real" in terms of a child's cognitive development.

Actually, I think the future of our world is in good hands. But, what a challenge these young ones shall have! We must help them while we are here. Let freedom ring into the minds of our youth and and freedom shall remain for all.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
