Appalachian Sunset

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 7 July 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Next week, I will resume the Americana series...I just learned last night that we will be driving up to Vermont on Friday (tomorrow). So, I have pre-loaded some images for you. I hope you enjoy them

This first one was captured just a few weeks ago after Barbara and I drove out to Merrill Creek Reservoir to view the sunset. As you can see, we were not disappointed. Of course the dynamic range was a bit much for my poor little beloved Olympus...but until I get that Nikon, it will just have to do. Nevertheless, this was a beautiful evening.

I want to thank you all so very much for your wonderful comments on my blog. Cheers!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
