To the People of Norway

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 27 July 2011 in Documentary & Street.

I would like to dedicate today's post to the victims, families and all the people of Norway, where, on July 22, 2011 seventy-six people, mostly children, were killed in a horrific bombing and shooting attack perpetrated by a lone "individual." Among the survivors, lives are now forever changed. The dead were robbed of their lives and their futures. The reason, crazed intolerance.

How long will it take? How many times must we see these actions of hatred and intolerance in this world? Innocent lives were taken because of a "mind" afflicted with the disease of hatred and intolerance.

I pray for all the people of Norway and, truly, all the people of the world who are trying to carry on and continue the pursuit of peace among all.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
