September 12 - Black Sunrise

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 12 September 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

The following day, the sun rose
But everything was cold and black
Ash was all around
Fear was all around
Tears were all around
The heroes choked and searched and sweated and searched and cried and searched even more....
The unknowing ones wondered and cried and prayed: Where is he? Where is she? Where are they?
Friends took in strangers '...for days on end
The world changed and changed again and again....and again....or did it?
Still, the same questionis asked. ...Who? Why? It was him, not me!
Some have answers..... Hollow? Perhaps....probably....Who knows?
Hatred begets hatred...that's all I know!
Where does it stop?
The Sun Rose Black today.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
