October Snowstorm - Strange Days Indeed

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 30 October 2011 in People & Portrait.

Well, here we are, experiencing another rare event: Yesterday (Saturday), a Late October snowstorm in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York States. Snow is common in most areas of the Northeast in late November or December, but certainly not late October. A"Noreaster" parked itself of the Atlantic coast and has created some extremely, windy and cold conditions, along with sopping wet snow that is wreaking havoc on many trees, most of which are still laden with leaves. Power outages are occuring all around and the roads are filled with a frozen slush....The road service departments are handling things well, though, with salt spreading and snow removal equipment out in force.. The weather is anticipated to return to "normal" by late Monday and, by mid-week, we probably won't have a trace of snow remaining except in some of the higher locations. ...Strange Days Indeed!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
