Frosty Man, Frosty!

If you are an old (added emphasis on the word "old") fan of Dr Pepper beverage, you will remember the above slogan...The color of this "pre-sunrise" light, mixed with the frost really compelled me to title this little piece as such. This was captured Monday morning when the temperature was about 29 degrees F. There was very definitely a good layer of frost on the grass, making it look almost like digital noise on my screen.

This spot lies along one of my favorite alternate routes that I take en route to my work......and it is a prime example as to WHY I take these alternate routes!! After all, if one has to "work," one might as well make the best of it wherever and whenever he or she can! To get here, I drive up a county road to the top of a wooded hill and then down the other side (the east side), where everything suddenly opens up to reveal this view. There is even a safe and convenient spot to park where I can hop out and walk back up the road just a bit (with tripod or monopod in tow). I pass through an open farm gate and walk out onto this sloping field that overlooks the valley!

The only problematic "element" in this whole affair is a line of telephone poles and wires that I have to try and 'take care" of in editing.....I guess we can't have everything.....At any rate, I LOVE this spot - I hope you do too ;-)

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
