This Veteran's Best Friend

Today, Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada , is the day when citizens salute all those who have served in the military. Many Veterans paid the ultimate sacrifice in their service, and to them, we all owe an even deeper debt of grattitude.

But, as a Veteran myself, I think today should also be one in which veterans return that salute to those who stayed behind, waited, and prayed for us.

This image shows the beautiful woman who spent 365 consecutive days worrying and waiting for me to return. In that time, her love provided me with the comfort in knowing that she was there, waiting for me, and always thinking of me.

So, today, on this Veteran's Day, I would like to salute my beautiful wife, Barbara, whom I love so much. I thank her for all that she did and all that she still does for this absent minded old veteran.

If not for you, winter would have no spring
I couldn't hear the robins sing
I just wouldn't have a clue
Anyway it wouldn't ring true if not for you

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
