Autumn's Remembrance

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 6 January 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Winter has definitely (and finally) arrived with really frigid temperatures! But there is no snow in most of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The cold winds we are currently having are very effective in robbing most folks of any desire to wander outdoors! So, for the next few days at least, I am looking at what WAS while I await the opportunity to get back outside and capture what IS.... This image was captured in November. You may recognize the scene. It is from the same location as my December 22 post entitled "Reflectivity" (http://dennyjumpphoto.aminus3.com/image/2011-12-22.html). This shot, however, was captured from the other side of the pond.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
