HI EVERYONE - I WILL NOT BE POSTING NEW IMAGES FOR A SHORT WHILE (NO WORRIES, ALL IS WELL), HOWEVER, I WILL CONTINUE TO VIEW YOUR BLOGS AND COMMENT AS BEST I CAN.
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR KINDNESS! - DENNY ;-)
Easton, PA is full of old structures dating back to the late 18th century, before, during and after the American Revolution period. I hope to periodically visit these old buildings and places to bring you some of the "feel", appearances, and history of this city before I return to the west and it is to late! ;-)
This huge structure is one of three large buildings that comprised the old Simon Silk Mill, a maker of silk ribbons and other silk products from 1833 until the 1970s. The buildings have remained unused since the late 1970's (if I understand the notes I read correctly), but the city of Easton, Pennsylvania, along with the highly-regarded Lafayette College (I hope to present posts about this fine institution in the months to come, as well), key Easton Redevelopment groups, and several other art and history-related associations have been making a concerted effort to improve and maintain these buildings and to tell their story.
This view of the building is from the newest addition of the (approximately) 12 mile - long trail that skirts along The Bushkill Creek, which passes by our condominium, which is north of this location, )and flows into the Delaware River, which is to the east from this point.
WInter is a much better time to take these shots because the trees in summer do a really good job of blocking the view even more than they have here.
I'll post more about all of the history and historic features of Easton, PA now and again, interspersed with other things. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I have no idea when or where this will all end up but, as is true to my style, I like to improvise (the jazz lover in me) amd follow the sound and feeling ;-)

We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)
- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
