San Francisco Buildings and Glass

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 28 January 2012 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

I have not posted a Cityscape shot for a while. I don't have that many at all, but I have a few. This one is from downtown San FRancisco last year. The city is, by far, my favorite. My heart is there along with Tony Benett's song . I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

Current city architecture often tends to look better in (good) photography like this than it does in reality, I find. As the microchip has taken over from the pen in design offices, the world of endless reflections has emerged . . but, as always, the best ones are purely accidental !

Wow, Denny, really love this shot. But you know I love those reflections! The abstraction is great and I love the colors. Better than the snow right now, I guess. Or has it all melted?

Have a great weekend, many hugs to you and Barbara :)

Nice tight framing, sir. I like these cutaways in the architecture, and one day would love to visit that beautiful city. So many gorgeous old Victorian "painted ladies" to admire and photograph, and I ain't talkin' 'bout ladies of the night!

Is there anyone from the east who has visited SF and not left a part of their heart there? I know, some from the midwest ... or even the west might have done the same, but we from the EAST have a special connection, I think! *grin
