It Takes a Real Egghead to Build a Snow Arch!

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 31 January 2012 in Lifestyle & Culture.

During our "Snow Day" walk, Barbara and I came upon these fine young fellows as they were building a small snow arch......a rather ingeneous mixture of slush and snow, all assisted in retaining it's form by the fact that the temps were sunny but quite frigid: About -3 Celsius (I would guess 26 Farenheit). The Construction Manager was, of course, the fellow with - yes, those are pink boots - and eggs on his head (not real eggs). He gave me permission to grab this shot. I don't do very many "Silly Tuesday" shots, but that hat of his just "cracked" me up!! - Happy Silly Tuesday, all!

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
