" I see My Light Come Shining..."

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 29 February 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

After yesterday's focus upon industrial power, it's time to get back to basics and what really counts with respect to beauty and peace of mind. What we all need is a little light to shine on our lives, and some greening would be nice as well. I found both of them late this past Sunday afternoon.

I captured this shot at a little tributary creek that feeds into The Bushkill Creek (all within walking distance from our condo) in Easton, PA. The sun was shining at an increasingly low angle such that the light was glancing, dancing, and prancing off the new green grasses, moss, and water. I hope you enjoy!

"I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released"

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
