Sillhouettes IV - Lovin' Life

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 9 March 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Although I was shivering like a leaf because of the very strong (and cold) wind, this view just knocked me out. The clouds in the sky were just glorious, with all sorts of pinks and yellows, golds and purples. The only unfortunate thing was that this particular perspective was the only one I could use in order to capture the clouds and trees all at once, and the ground, here, has no real undulation, and that makes the bottom of the frame look like...well, a "Frame!" Well, I guess we can't win them all!

Near the top-center of this image, just to the right a bit and hidden behind the cloud is Venus - just barely visible. In the lower right area of the frame, beyond the tree on the right (but the one that is closer to the center of the frame), you may see some canada geese flyng. Finally, a little higher and back towards the middle, going into the golden glow, is a jet liner flying west.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
