Jenny Jump State Forest - New Jersey

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 16 April 2012 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Here is a little flower (name I am researching) that resmbles a rose . This was captured at Jenny Jump State Forest . Jenny was not a Jump, she was a mythical girl who jumped off a rock to her death in the early 1800's. This state forest was named after the long held fable.
I may have another post before this week is over - then probably nothing other than a few here and there until June - but I'll keep you all posted - Love - Denny

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

The complexities of an entire Universe disguised as sweet simplicity . If we look, we see it everywhere and the myths and fables fall into place.

@Christine: Hi Christine - Thank you so much:-).. Because of the leaves on the plant and the "rose- like" formation of the flower in it's earliest stage here, I am thinking it could be "Common CInquefoil" (potentilla simplex) or possibly winter aconite....I have sent both options to my sister, Peggy, in California. She is really good with identifcation, as wel. Thank you so very much and, I owe you and Richard a note which I will be sending soon :-) Love to you both - Denny <3

@Tamara: Hi Tamara -Thank you so much...Christine thinks it could be "winter aconite" which is very reasonable...after researching our local wildflowers here, I though perhaps it just might be a common cinquefoil (plantilla simplex)...SO I am sending to my sister Peggy in California...she is top notch at this stuff :-)

@k@: Hi Karine :-) Thank you so much - it is wonderful to hear from you...No I am having some skin cancer removed today but ut is small but also near my eye (my "good" eye) so I need to return to an eye surgeon tomorrow so they can put me to sleep and sew the incision back up...a long story. Then, I will be out for the 6 weeks just for several other reasons etc - I think my post of 12 April tells all about everything. So I will be watching but not posting...but feel free to send email if you want. Love and hugs to you and ake care..."talk" to you soon ;-) <3
