Here's to the Queen - Here's to United Kingdom!

Please bear with me for a moment while I "set this up" and explain why I am saying what I am saying :-)

Barbara and I have been away for a few days, spending time in Philadelphia with a dear friend (from our home town of Sacramento, CA) who traveled there for a conference. We had not seen her since 1975...We showed her around Philadelphia and visited most of the Historical aspects of that great city, including the Liberty Bell, US Constitution Hall, Independance Mall and Valley Forge.

As we were walking around, I was telling her about all of the wonderful friends that I have met here on this blog family. Then, today, as Barbara and I enjoyed watching the Queen's Diamond Jubille festivities on the River Thames (in the wind, the cold, and the rain). And with all of this in mind - the Jubille, our recent visit to an important element of the American Revolution, I began to reflect on the events that occurred way back in the 1770's. These events which began as two factions at war but then ended with two nations rejoining after the period of war and becoming allies - the best of friends! Had history been different, who knows what things would be like today. And with all of that in mind, all I can say is that I am so very thankful that BOTH nations are free and are the best of friends! This entire scenario means a great deal to me.

So, may I say to all in the Great Britain and The UK, .Thank You for being our friend after all these years. And may I also say CONGRATULATIONS to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, and all the Royal Family as they celebrate the past 60 years.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
