Sunset, Night is Near - Awaken from a Dream

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 18 July 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Sunset on a hot summer's day,
I awaken from a heavy-headed dream,
The kind you get on an oppressive day,

I see the Grass is there ,
But all the rest before me....just blur, nothing clear

And In that mix of waving grass, blowing breezes, dancing skylight,
and setting sun, with night coming on,
I blink my eyes, trying hard to get a focus...

But it's no use;

Then, I awaken - Again
From another dream...A dream within a dream....
I awaken to see the same thing. all over again;

But now, I know the reality of it all:
Only the grass that grows and weaves within our mind, in our heart,
and in our eyes...is truly there to be seen.

Excerpted lyrics from song that I am also reminded of, here:

"I was strolling one very hot summer's day
When I laid myself down to rest
In a big field of tall grass
I laid there in the sun and felt it carressing my face....

Spill the Wine take that Pearl...
Spill The wine dig that girl..."

From the song "Spill The Wine" by War and Eric Burdon:

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:

ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
