And Now, For Something Entirely Different

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 2 October 2012 in Cityscape & Urban.

Of all the many various views of New York City, I find this to be rather interesting. This was taken on Saturday 29 September from Liberty State Park, which lies to the west, across the Hudson River ,in Jersey Cty, New Jersey.

Here, we see Lower Manhattan on the far right, Midtown Manhattan in the center of the frame (with the Empire State Building right in the "middle of the middle" (but not looking so tall from this distance), and on the left (including that VERY large builiding) is Jersey City, New jersey.

Please do let me know what you think of the perspective.

We will be gone for several days, to Vermont to visit our daughter, grandsons and son-in-law. I hope to bring back some good fall colour shots as well, if I am lucky ;-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
