The End is Near-1

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 28 October 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

The times, they are-a-changin' and the leaves, they are-a-leavin'. So, I decided I had better get out there and "catch some" colour before the leaves completely disappear......I don't know how long this series will go, but I will try my best to give you a final taste of Autumn in the Eastern Pennsylvania & Western New Jersey regions. My best wishes and love to you alll - Happy Autumn!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"

Cool image. I like the side light that gives it little extra pop. Cold and windy conditions that are coming this week, it most likely will be gone. Hope all is going well, Mr. Denny...

Beautiful autumn scene with the fallen leaves and the trees still dappled with color; fantastic Denny! You and Barbara take care during the storm; we are prepared but very anxious... 6-10" of rain and 70+ miles of wind for our area and possible power outages for days +. Be safe :)

I missed this yesterday, Denny, and don't see a post for today (Monday). I pray you and Barbara will not have any damage from this horribly large storm. Our dtr (RN) went to work this morning for her 16-hr shift in Community Hosp., Holmdel, NJ both Mon & Tues ... with a small packed for overnights until she can get back home to Monmouth County.

This is a really beautiful photo, Denny! I'm enjoying seeing your Autumn images as we have no color here yet and probably won't due to the extended drought. Fantastic work, but more importantly, I hope you and your family are riding out Sandy OK. Let us know you all are safe when you can.

And I, for one, am grateful that you are bringing this series to all of us, especially the leaf deprived units in Southern California! So beautiful! I love it.

Gorgeous fall scenery and colors Denny! By the time you read this post, I image Sandy will have taken away most of the leaves.

Love those autumn colours

30 Oct 2012 8:31am

Jeff from Honolulu, United States

Beautiful colors captured in this image. I know from experience in New England, however, that a storm even less than Sandy will seriously diminish Autumn's beauty. That just makes your photo all the more important...a reminder of our beautiful world. Good capture.

Absolutely brilliant, Denny - I could sit and gaze at this for a very long time...
