This Little Light of Mine

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 9 December 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

About one month ago, we took a Sunday walk in the woods at Cherry Valley National Wildlife Reserve, not far from our home. The air was cool and pure. The sun felt good as it began to sink in the late afternoon sky. The forest began to develop shaded areas. As we continued our walk, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this tree shining like a beacon. It was in a spot still unaffected by shade. It struck me as being like a symbol of safety and hope. Something that this world desperately needs now.

NOTE FROM DENNY - I have really been under the weather for the past few days - please forgive me for not visiting and responding very much...seems like between work and feeling crunby, I just can't catch a break. But I DO want you all to know that I appreciate your visits and I am visiting all of you as often as I can. Peace - Denny

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
