Wind & Water....Ice, & Branches

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 15 January 2013 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

The Winter sun shines down;
The wind pushes the water creating ripples which, at first, were nothing special,
but now, they become priceless jewels as they catch the sun's light and multiply it.

The sun becomes the Lighting Manager.
The ice becomes the Stage Director.
The branches become Master of Ceremonies.

All the while, the wind, at fiirst a cold and harsh audience ,
now delivers its excited ovation to the cast .... "WHOOOSH!"...

..and so begins this Dancing Play....
of Wind, Water, Ice, and Branches.

By the Way: this is a "colour" image :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Very very good ! I like the two different orientation of the fine lines on the water (I searched for "ridule" but apart lines...and this is not what ridule means. Do you have a word for this?)

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

This is 100% a photographer's shot . . a brilliant image so well seen and presented. I think I would have sliced off the top and let those hi-lights dance alone and free.

15 Jan 2013 9:41am

@Ronnie 2¢: Hi Ronnie :-) - Thank you so much... during my processing of this shot, .I was tempted to do as you have was a close call...I guess I was "taken" by the sparkling ice that was different in appearance from the "sparkling" water ...SO I decided to keep both :-)...The mind is feeble at my age. Too many choices tend to confuse me - just give me the Orange-Cranberry Scone :-) Thanks you sir :-)
