the sky's the Limit - 5

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 24 August 2013 in Landscape & Rural.

Here is a long shot back towards the sunset. The variation in colours and tones were like an old "Top 40" Radio station where "the hits just keep on comin'!"

I had to keep this dark in the foreground because my poor little Oly can't handle the dark without noise. That little speck of light in the lower portion of the frame is a small pool of rainwater reflecting the light , and, finally, if you look up at the left-hand side of the frame, you should see the August "Sturgeon Moon, in it's waxing crescent phase. -)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

The skies at sundown fascinate me and I love the colors in this one that you captured ... the little reflective pool and moon too!

The dark foreground works with the color of the sky and conveys the time of day perfectly.

Magnificent. Superbly soothing, and the path with its double line is perfectly placed.
Super period at your blog, to me.
