Pacific Science Center

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 1 September 2013 in Cityscape & Urban.

The Pacific Science Center is adjacent to Seattle Center which was the location for the 1962 World's Fair which includes, the Space Needle. Designer Minoru Yamasaki was the mastermind of the beautiful Arches that we see here, along with fountains and halls that were part of the Center.

These beautiful structures are, perhaps, overshadowed by the Space Needle, but their design and appearance are unforgettable and, in ny opinion, they are as attractive in B&W as they are in colour. Consequently, I have chosen to show them today in colour and tomorrow's post will be the view in Black and White, slightly cropped a bit more than today's.

If you are interested in the Pacific Science Center and Sattle Center in general, I have provided a wiki link below.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
