Communications

The Study of Communications, more commonly known as "Communication Studies," is something I can comfortably say that I know a little bit about. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies many years ago, but the ways and reasons how and why cultures, individuals, countries, and even objects "communicate" with each other - and within their own groups - has been a personal interest of mine ever since my university years. I am just as certain that it is a deep interest for anyone else who has studied in this discipline - it is magical and it gets into your heart and soul and it just stays with you and compels you to observe....and observe still more.

One thing I have noticed, over time, is that there's even a kind of communication that takes place between nature and scientific elements: The effectiveness of radio waves can be impacted by weather and pressure pattens. Atmospheric and interstellar activity can have an affect on the quality of the signals our television sets receive. This, in a sense is a form of "communication" between these phenomena.

So, this vision of old telephone poles in the golden, foggy, morning mist really provides me with an internal sense that natural and scientific elements can indeed be "connected" in a certain way.

* " If you disrespect anybody that you run into, How in the world do you think anybody's supposed to
respect you?
Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- "To photograph is to hold ne's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- Nature is not a place to visit, It is home."
- Gary Snyder.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues. The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

LONNIE LISTON SMITH:
EXPAND YOUR MIND TO UNDERSTAND
