Really Cool Jazz! Big Joe Burrell

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 14 January 2014 in Cityscape & Urban.

OK, so I Lied! Here is one more shot of Burlington...I could not allow this famous figure to go unrecognized. Meet long-time Burlington Jazz figure, Big Joe Burrell, who endeared himself to the city of Burlington and was a key figure in bringing world famous jazz artists to the area for Festivals, Concerts and more. If you are interested, I have provided a story link below.... and, in the right hand shot, Big Joe appears to be "pointing at" Barbara, Tyler, and Ryan in the street :-) Jazz was, is, and always will be "Cool"...and this scene proves it :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
