Betwixt and Between

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 9 May 2014 in Plant & Nature.

We visited a nearby Arboretum last weekend because we wanted to see how the Rhododendrons were coming along (they have about 2 weeks to go, by my estimation), but there were some interesting contrasts and conflicts to witness. On the one hand, the trees and larger foliage was still very much in early spring mode. On the other side of things, the skunk cabbage was outrageously green and colorful. I captured this scene because I felt that it was very representative of the kind of scenes we witnessed on Sunday.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
