This was taken at the reflection pool which now occupies the space where the North Tower of the World Trade Center once stood. Tuesday of this week, Barbara, her sister, Patty, and I visited here.
The day was searing hot! Not much breeze was around. Everyone was uncomfortable, yet, few complaints were heard as we stood in the hot sun for almost 90 minutes, waiting to enter the newly-opened 911 Museum.
Here at the pool, I sensed a feeling that seemed to be present in everyone as we all held out our cell phones and cameras, trying to capture and preserve what WE all felt at that time. I truly believed there was a common, unspoken, shared purpose to capture an image that, in some way, would help each of us to accept, understand, and "deal with" the pain and emptiness that STILL exists in so many hearts and minds......including mine.
The Museum, just recently opened, will be the subject of more images to come.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)
- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
