Diablo Trees - Concord, CA

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 23 July 2014 in Plant & Nature.

In late March we were visiting our son, David, and his wife - our daughter-in-law, Lyndsy, and grand daughters Aurora and Cecelia. During our stay Barbara and I went for several walks along the Diablo Walking Path in Concord, CA. These trees really caught my eye. I loved their shape and the fact that the sun was just behind the trunk of one of the trees. I did not do much with this image for a very long time but spending a little time with the images this past weekend, it "dawned" on me that this image might look interesting in a processed Nik Silver Efex mode. So I wound up finishing this in the Soft Sepia tone of Nik Silver Efex. I hope you like it :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
